INSPIRE Project Launched in Dokolo to Foster Resilient and Inclusive Economies
Last Friday, December 13th, marked a significant milestone with the launch of the Integrated and Sustainable Production for Inclusive and Resilient Economies (INSPIRE) project. The event, held in Dokolo District, brought together a distinguished gathering, including the Assistant RDC, Chairman LCV, Chief Administrative Officer, and members of the INSPIRE team led by the Project Coordinator Mr Osman Owidi among others.
Funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented by GOAL, Facilitation for Innovations and Sustainable Productivity (FINASP), the INSPIRE project aims to transform rural lowland communities in Lango sub-region. With a target of reaching 200,000 households, the project seeks to promote resilient and inclusive economic development across nine districts:
- In Lango: Alebtong, Lira, Amolatar, and Dokolo
The launch featured an inception meeting that set a collaborative tone for the project’s implementation. Members of the delegation engaged in an open discussion, expressing their enthusiasm and pledging their full cooperation. The Chief Administrative Officer of Dokolo District emphasized the importance of district-level collaboration, particularly with the Production Department and other engagement officers, to ensure the project’s success.
The INSPIRE project will initially focus on 18 selected sub-counties in the whole of Lango (six from each of the three target districts). By integrating sustainable production practices and fostering inclusive participation, INSPIRE aims to address the economic challenges faced by rural communities while promoting resilience against socio-economic vulnerabilities.
The launch marked the beginning of a promising journey toward empowering rural households with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive. With strong support from local leaders and stakeholders, INSPIRE is well-positioned to drive meaningful change in the lives of the communities it serves.
